Twenty First Jain Tirthankara

Bhagvan Naminath was born in Mithila, on the eighth day of the dark half of the month of Sravan. His father name was King Vijay and Mother name was Vapra Devi. After long span of life time, he took diksha ninth day of the dark half of the month of Aashadh along with 1000 other men’s.

After 9 months of diksha and worldly life abandonment Lord Naminath attained (kevalgyan ) salvation on – 11th day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh and constellation of Ashwini .

On the tenth day of the dark half of the month of Vaishakh , Bhagwan Naminath, along with other 1000 saints was liberated and attained nirvana on Sammet Shikhar (mountain).

Bhagwan Naminath lived for 10,000 years of which he spent 2500years as an ascetics and 9 months of Meditation and Spiritual Practices (sahdana/tap).

It is believed that Naminath prabhu was 15 measure of bow(at that time unit of measurement was bow i.e. bow of bow & arrow) in height.
