Mallinath Bhagavan

Nineteenth Jain Tirthnakara

Bhagvan Mallinath was the only female Tirthankara and was born in Mithila, on eleventh day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh . His father name was king Kumbh and Mother name was -Prabhavati Devi. After long span of life time, she took diksha on eleventh day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh along with 300 other men’s and women each .

Immediately after diksha Lord Mallinath attained (kevalgyan )salvation on constellation of Ashwini.

On the 12th day of the bright half of the month of Phalgun, Bhagwan Mallinath, along with other 1000 saints was liberated and attained nirvana on Sammet Shikhar (mountain).

Bhagwan Mallinath lived for 55000 years of which he spent 54900 years as ascetics.

It is believed that Mallinath prabhu was 25 measure of bow(at that time unit of measurement was bow i.e. bow of bow & arrow) in height.
