Arnath Bhagavan

Eighteenth Jain Tirthankara

Bhagvan Arnath dev: was born in Gajpur/Hastinapur, on 10th day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh . His father name was Sudarshan and Mother name was Maha Devi. After long span of life time ,he took diksha 11th day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh along with 1000 other men’s.

After 3 years of diksha and worldly life abandonment Lord Arnath attained (kevalgyan )salvation on 12th day of the bright half of the month of Karthik and constellation of Revati .

On the 10th day of the bright half of the month of Margshirsh , Bhagwan Arnath , along with other 1000 saints was liberated and attained nirvana on Sammet Shikhar (mountain).

Bhagwan Arnath lived for 84000 years of which he spent 21000years as an ascetics and 3 years of Meditation and Spiritual Practices (sahdana/tap).

It is believed that Arnath prabhu was 30 measure of bow(at that time unit of measurement was bow i.e. bow of bow & arrow) in height.
